Recorded in ‘Deep Covid’ by each band member in their home studios, produced by Dead Rock West bassist, David J Carpenter and mixed by Dave Way, it’s an epic explosion of revelation, defiance and hope.
Written exactly 29 years ago by a young Frank Lee Drennen and sometime-collaborator, Patrick Dennis when they were an ambitious, fervent young punk-folk duo ‘The Homer Gunns’, this track tells a story more timely than the moment it was written in. In the voices of Cindy and Frank, the words take on a whole new relevance and power. And with the Dead Rock West band pulsing behind them including special guest, Matt Lynott from ‘The White Buffalo’ on drums and The Section Quartet providing a swelling string section, the song is an exciting surprise from a band who keep their rock n roll engine perfectly-tuned but carefully in check.
