30 years in the making, Dead Rock West is releasing a new single on Oct 23rd, ‘Revolution In The Garden’!
Recorded in ‘Deep Covid’ by each band member in their home studios, produced by Dead Rock West bassist, David J Carpenter and mixed by Dave Way, it’s an epic explosion of revelation, defiance and hope.
It’s Frankie Lee Drennen's birthday and we’ve got a present for you! We're excited to announce the release of a very special live album: ‘Dead Rock West: Live At McCabe’s’!
With everyone all around the world unable to gather for live concerts right now we decided to bring the concert to you! Our dear friend and producer Mark Linett has worked with us to bring this record to life, to mix and master the 21 tracks on the album.
On September 14, 2018, Dead Rock West and a packed sold-out house gathered together at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica CA. It was a special night for everyone in the room and the results were recorded by Wayne Griffith of McCabe’s. Now, thanks to Mark Linett, we get to share that special evening with you!

Our new album is finally out today! ‘ Glitter & Gold’ is now out available as a digital download on Bandcamp and also a physical CD packaged in a special pearlescent white 70s style record jacket/sleeve combo.We also have a VERY limited edition silver paper printing available. There is as well, a limited run of silkscreen printed posters designed by our friend and compatriot Scrojo just for the occasion.
Thank you for all of your patience waiting for this one. It’s been a long road to get this very special record out and we appreciate all of your support. And it’s a very special honor that it includes the last recording that we did with Cindy’s brother, the celebrated bassist Rob Wasserman, before his sudden passing in 2017. We hope that you enjoy it. We’re excited to bring it too!
We'd like to invite you to join us for a very special night with Dead Rock West on September 22nd to celebrate the forthcoming release of our new record, 'Glitter & Gold’. We will be playing a very special and intimate show at McCabes Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, CA playing songs from the new album, and some of your favorites from our catalog. We will be joined on this all-acoustic night by Phil Parlapiano, Geoff Pearlman and David J Carpenter. There will be no opening act, just an intimate version of Dead Rock West and a full night of music!
There will be special Download ‘All Access’ passes available on that night only that will allow you to download a high definition version of the album along with special digital artwork. You will also have the opportunity to pre-order your copy of the CD before anyone else does. The CD packages are being done in a very special way, by our dear friends at Stoughton Printers. They are the best in the business and have been working closely with us to get it just right. And we will have some very special VERY limited edition hand screened posters from the legendary poster artist Scrojo on sale as well.

This new record, ‘Glitter and Gold’ is a companion record of sorts to our ‘It’s Everly Time!’. It contains some of our other favorite Everly Bothers songs as well as a tune that I wrote with Exene Cervenka of X. The record is packed with guests like Dave Alvin who blew up a guitar amp while recording one of his solos, and it was the last time that we made music with Cindy’s brother Rob Wasserman before his very untimely passing. We have been performing ‘Long Time Gone’ on tour this last year in Rob’s honor and now we are finally able to share the recorded version of him and DRW doing the song with you all.
We are also very excited that this record is being released on our own imprint, Angel Flight Recording Co. We decided to forego paying for all the regular avenues of promotion and just sell it directly to you, our fans, via our website and at shows. We have special packages planned and have been lucky to have the great poster artist Scrojo involved in the artwork for the album and extra bits.

*UPDATE Sept 21, 2019: Due to the Pre-Order service issues we have been forced to delay the pre-order date. Our huge apologies. We are having serious difficulty with the service that we had been intending for the Pre-Order. It became evident that it was incapable of delivering an easy and quality customer service that you all deserve (in fact it massively let us down at the last minute). So, if you will bare with us a few extra days you will be able to pre-order our new album on the 27th. The CD manufacturing hasn’t been effected by all of this and we are still on track to be release the record in Late October, so we will let you know as soon as the pre-order is live and available!
